We believe that our role within the golf club includes being there to help you with any questions you might have. We’ve noticed a lot of the same questions popping up – specifically around the subject of electric trolleys – so we figured this would be a perfect opportunity to answer those questions for you.
Drumroll please...
Q: Who makes the best trolleys?
In our experience, Motocaddy is the winner in this category. It’s really hard to argue with this as their engineers are constantly working on making trolleys that move smoothly over all terrain, are really compact (really handy when fitting them in the car boot) and even serve up the highest level of GPS technology on high-resolution touchscreens. That’s probably why Tour legend Billy Foster, who’s caddied for Tiger, Seve, Sergio and currently for U.S. Open Champ Matt Fitzpatrick, is happy putting his name alongside Motocaddy as the best of the best on-course companions.
Q: How much do they cost?
As you’d expect, the price of an electric trolley can vary quite a bit. Taking Motocaddy as an example, you won’t get a ‘starter’ or ‘entry-level’ model (if you could, it wouldn’t be held in such prestige). The thing to note here, though, is that the pricing – despite being best in class – is competitive with all other brands. Starting at £549.99 with the S1 model and working up to over £1,000 in the ultra-premium M7 Remote and M-TECH GPS, you’ll find that you can get the really high-tech touchscreen models like the M3 & M5 GPS for a very reasonable price.
Q: Are they worth it?
This one could be a simple ‘YES!’ but we will elaborate a little bit. Having an electric trolley takes the burden of carrying or pushing your bag full of clubs around, meaning a more enjoyable round as well as playing better golf thanks to the saved energy and reduced risk of injury.
Adding to that, the GPS technology installed in the trolleys means that instead of getting yourself an additional device for your on-course data you can get everything you need on large, crystal-clear touchscreens. Isn’t that amazing?
The video above explains what an amazing range you’ve got to choose from, but we’d strongly suggest you come to the pro shop for an up-close & personal look.
